Jeff Pomplun, age 54, of Gaylord, passed away at his home in rural Gaylord on Sunday, Feb. 4.
Memorial services will be held at the United Church of Christ in Gaylord at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9. Rev. Dr. Dennis McKee will officiate.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at the church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8. It will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday, Feb. 9.
The organist will be Sandy Wentzloff. Son, Anthony Pomplun, will be the soloist.
Kent Krumwiede will give the eulogy.
The urn bearer will be Alex Evers.
Honorary urn bearers will be Godchildren, Wyatt Albers and Caitlyn Mathwig.
Jeff Edward Pomplun was born to Melvin and Patricia (Hoffman) Pomplun in Arlington on Sept. 2, 1963. Jeff was baptized as an infant at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He received his education in Arlington and was a 1982 graduate of the Arlington-Green Isle High School.
On June 23, 1984, Jeff was united in marriage to Sandra Albers at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in New Hope. After their marriage, the couple resided in rural Arlington and then rural Gaylord. Jeff was self-employed and a stay at home dad. This marriage was blessed with three sons, William, Anthony, and Ethan. Jeff and Sandra shared 34 years of marriage.
Jeff was a member of the United Church of Christ in Gaylord.
Jeff enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and restoring tractors. He cherished the time he spent with his family.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Sandra Pomplun of Gaylord; sons, William Pomplun of Oahu, Hawaii, Anthony Pomplun of Gaylord, and  Ethan Pomplun of Gaylord; parents, Melvin and Patricia Pomplun of Arlington; siblings, Anita (David) Swanson of Glencoe,  and Patrick (Patricia) Pomplun of Evansville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Melva Albers of Winthrop; sister-in-law, Lisa (Kent) Krumwiede of Ashby, MN; brother-in-law, David  (Misty) Albers of Winthrop; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his niece, Faith Krum-wiede; grandparents, Ella and Edward Pomplun and Alma and Fred Hoffman.
