Lois Twetten, 88, formerly of Arlington

Lois Twetten, age 88, of Gaylord and formerly of Arlington, passed away at the Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
A Celebration of Life will be observed at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.
A private burial will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Centuria, Wis., at a later date.
Lois Ann was born to Clarence Rueben and Anna Fredericka (Karis) Dreier in Clear Lake, Polk County, Wis., on March 31, 1931. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, Wis.  She graduated from Amery High School in 1949. On Nov. 10, 1954, she married James B. Twetten at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Milltown, Wis. In August 1961, the family moved to Arlington where they managed the Ben Franklin store until January 1995. Lois had also worked at Kick’s Bakery and seasonally at Big Stone Canning Company. In 2004, she went to live with her son in Cosmos. In 2009, she moved into Oak Terrace Health Care Center after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and needed assistance with her care. While living in Arlington, Lois was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, a card club and the bowling league. She enjoyed reading, watching the Twins and Vikings, tending to her gardens, playing cards, visiting with friends and being with her pets.
Lois is survived by her sons, Bruce (Sherri) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Neal of Cosmos; daughter, Donna (Steve) Kuphal of Gaylord; granddaughters and great grandchildren, Kate (Chris) Lehn and son Matthew of Carlos, Kelsey (Joe) Washek and sons Wyatt, Xander and Noah of Alexandria, Krystal (Luke) Kraft and children Liam, Elizabeth and Nora of Olathe, Kansas; sister, Lori Dreier of Palm Desert, Calif.; brother-in-law, Harlan Twetten of Menomonie, Wis.; nieces and nephews and their families.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her parents-in-law, Seymour B. and Eunice S. (Kloco) Twetten; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Donald Gillespie; brother and sister-in-law, Lyman and Irene Dreier.
