The eighth annual Darwin Mathwig Community Service Award was presented to Lowell Nagel during the Arlington Lions Fish Fry on Friday night, Feb. 23.

Nancy Mathwig, wife of the late Darwin Mathwig, presented the award to Nagel. Lowell is a life-long member of the Arlington community. During that time, he has served Arlington in a variety of ways.

Lowell volunteered as a member of the Arlington Fire Department for 33 years. He has also been a member of the Arlington American Legion and Arlington VFW for more than 45 years. Lowell joined after he served his country in the Army for two years.
