Morris Iverson, 98, Litchfield

Morris Iverson, age 98, of Litchfield, died at Good Samaritan in Waconia on Saturday, Feb. 24.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Ecumen Bethany, 203 North Armstrong Avenue, Litchfield, at noon Friday, May 25.
A private interment for Morris and Victoria will follow at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Morris Reuben Iverson, son of Ingvald and Dina Iverson was born in Bernadotte on July 3, 1919.   
Morris served in the U.S. Army as a sharpshooter and cook and was stationed in Kodiak, Alaska.  He returned to Minnesota where he met Victoria Zupfer. They were married on May 25, 1946, and started their family in New Ulm while he worked and learned the dry cleaning business through the GI Bill.  They moved to Gaylord and owned Gaylord Dry Cleaners for 37 years.  After closing the business, they lived on a hobby farm outside of Gaylord and Morris managed Arlington School swimming pool for 10 years. He then worked as a custodian at the Gaylord Community Bank.  After retiring, they moved to Lake Minnebelle and then to Litchfield with his sister, Gretchen. In 2002, Victoria passed away.
Morris was a kind, gentle and generous man and loved to be around his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising fowl, water skiing, jet skiing, snowmobiling, horseshoes, billiards, antique collecting, vintage furniture restoring, scooters and was a lifetime member of the VFW.  He enjoyed traveling in the U.S., Alaska and Norway.  He worked hard and played harder. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by four children, Lanette Rauenhorst, Arizona, Ronald (Jane) Iverson, Arizona, Jacquelyn (Glenn Magoon) Iverson, Litchfield, and Troy (Christine) Iverson, Chaska; daughter-in-law, Ava Iverson. grandchildren Kari (Mike) Durrant, Cameron (Dani Padilla) Rauenhorst, Jason (Lisa) Iverson, Tanya (Scott) Fredrickson, Keegan Iverson and Kyle Iverson; sister, Gretchen Wollin, Litchfield; brother, Denis Iverson, New Ulm; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Victoria; six sisters; four brothers; son, Sonny; son-in-law, Tony Rauenhorst; infant daughter; and nieces and nephews.
