Nicholas A. ‘Tony’ Vos, age 81, of Green Isle, passed away at Oak Terrace Nursing Home in Gaylord on  Saturday May 26.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31. Father Martin Shallbetter was the celebrant of the Mass.
Casket bearers were Karissa Anna Vos, Victoria Suttle, Zachary Vos, Ann Zingsheim, Karissa Lynn Vos, Jacob Soberski, Zoey Vos, Luke Vos and Charlie Vos.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until the time of the Mass at the funeral home.
Interment with Military Honors was held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Nicholas Anthony ‘Tony’ Vos was born to Leonard Thomas and Anna Theresa (Roufs) Vos in Dahlgren Township, Carver County, on Oct. 25, 1936. He was baptized and confirmed at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska.
 Tony served in the Army, ranked as Specialist 2 stationed in Taiwan. Afterwards he bought a farm in Green Isle where he and his wife Marion Schwartz-Vos-Godwin raised 12 children. He worked as a machinist at Eaton Char Lynn in Eden Prairie for over 30 years. Tony will be remembered for helping anyone in a time of need, giving the shirt off his back and teasing everyone. He loved playing cards, polka and waltz music and attended many dances.
 Tony is survived by his loving family, children, Jan (JP) O’Neill of Oak Grove, Jean Suttle of Woodbury, Leonard (Wendy) Vos of St. Bonifacius, Lucy Zingsheim of Menomonie, Wis., Lisa Vos of Morocco, Peter (Lynn) Vos of Eden Prairie, Barbara (Rich) Soberski of Burnsville, Helen (John) Wiberg of Prior Lake, Mark (Jackie) Vos of Northfield, and Matthew (Jenny) Vos of New Brighton; daughters-in-law, Lori (Jim) Boelter of Hutchinson and Beth Vos of Maple Grove; grandchildren, Karissa Anna Vos, Victoria Suttle, Zachary Vos, Dylan Vos, Brett Vos, Garrett Vos, Ann Zingsheim, Amy Zingsheim, Breanna Blaschke (Tyler Anderson), Karissa Lynn Vos, Alexa Vos, Justine Soberski, Cody Soberski, Jacob Soberski, Bryce Soberski, Zoey Vos, Clay Vos, Luke Vos, Tyler Vos, Charlie Vos and Grace Vos; sister, Rosie (Ray) Peitz of Chanhassen; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Anna Vos; sons, Jeffery Vos and Richard Vos; siblings, Austin (Betty) Vos, Evelyn (Thomas) Heiland, Mercel (LaVerne) Vos, John (Agnes) Vos and Father Tom Vos OFM.
