Rosella E. Lentz, 100, Arlington

Rosella E. Lentz, age 100, of Arlington, passed away at the Golden Hearts Assisted Living Center in Arlington on Thursday, Oct. 25.
Funeral service will be held at the Kolden Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time  at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 3.
Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Lunch to follow interment at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Rosella Emma Lentz was born to Otto and Minna (Goetsch) Grochow in Gaylord on Aug. 15, 1918. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord on Sept. 1, 1918, and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. Streufert on March 20, 1932. Rosella was a 1937 graduate of the Gaylord High School. On June 29, 1941, Rosella married Norman Lentz at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Winter presiding.
Rosella had several small jobs before becoming a telephone operator with the local phone company, employment she kept until the telephone system changed to rotary dial. She then went to work in the laundry department at the Arlington Municipal Hospital for the next 30-plus years taking her to her retirement. Rosella did a lot of volunteer work at the American Legion in Arlington and also delivered Meals on Wheels. She was very active in her church. She liked going on walks and roller skated into her 70’s. Rosella enjoyed cleaning, gardening, and ironing clothes. She enjoyed watching sports but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
Rosella is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Brian) Hahn of Glencoe and Betsy (Bob) Nelson of Hackensack; grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Dempster, Kasi (Paul) Erickson, Adam Nelson and Brittany Nelson; great-grandchildren, Norrin, Ty and Trey; and sister-in-law, Zelora Bishop Lentz of Arlington.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman on January 19, 2000; sisters, Bernetta (Royal) Friederichs, Doris Grochow, Rufena (Robert) Pribnow and Elizabeth (Clinton) Firstbrook; parents-in-law, Gustav and Caroline Bruss Lentz; and siblings-in-law, Lois (Charles) Utter, Martin (Eleanor) Lentz and Austin Lentz.
