Sibley County Public Works Director Tim Becker presented his five-year road and bridge plan to the Sibley County Board at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Becker said the five-year plan is used by staff for budgeting, planning, programming and construction of highway and bridge improvement projects.  Factors that go into the development of the plan include traffic volume, crash data, pavement condition, sufficiency rating, alignment, and fund availability.   He also stated that this plan is not set in stone and can be changed.

County Commissioner Gary Kruggel questioned why County Road 57 was not on the five-year plan and wanted to see it paved to County Road 10.  He also asked about making County Road 57 a CSAH route. Becker felt that even if it was changed to a CSAH route they would not see a very large increase in funding, maybe $15,000.
