Sibley County Chief Deputy Patrick Nienaber informed the Sibley County Board that the County received a grant of $238,500 for the ARMER radio system.  Nienaber reported that the amount received was half of the last estimate for the project and more than expected.  He stated that Representative Glenn Gruenhagen still believes that the County could use the E911 funds to pay for the other half of the project.  He also reported that it must be installed by the end of 2019 and that he has to provide reports on the grant, the first one due in December.  He asked if the funds to pay for the other half of the system should come out of reserves or out of the E911 funds.

County Administrator Roxy Traxler stated that the Board needed to approve the grant agreement before anything is done and asked if the City of Arlington is under the assumption that the County will pay for the whole project if E911 funds are used.  Traxler, Pinske, and Nienaber will meet with City Administrator Pat Melvin and Mayor Rich Nagel to discuss timeline and payment.
