Sibley County youth net $2,400 in scholarships

 The Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council is pleased to announce that Youth Scholarships of $27,000 from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, which is funded by the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment, have been awarded to 70 students in grades 7-12 and 30 students in grades 3-6 throughout the region.  
Youth Scholarship recipients live in 22 different communities representing eight counties, according to Brenda Byron, PLRAC Executive Director. The Youth Scholarships of $300 for grades 7-12 and $200 for grades 3-6 will provide these students the opportunity to study their chosen art with a practicing professional artist by taking lessons over a period of months.  
There were $2,400 in Arts Scholarships awarded to 10 Sibley County youth. Four students in Sibley County were awarded $300 scholarships and included  Lydia Kranz, Maggie Newsom and Adeline Williams who are from Gaylord. Alexander Davig resides in Henderson.  
Six students in Sibley County were awarded $200 scholarships and included  Colten Kranz and Eliza Williams who are from Gaylord. Sophia Davig and Gaian Geldner reside in Henderson. Rachel Ammann and Charles Kotasek reside in rural LeSueur.
