The Sibley East varsity boys basketball team toppled visiting Tri-City United 57-33 in the opening round of the Section 2AA North Sub Section Boys Basketball Tournament in Arlington on Tuesday night, March 6.

The contest, due to the heavy snow, was postponed on Monday evening, March 5.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead and limited the visitors to just two baskets in the first 12 minutes of the game.

Senior Gavin Bates drilled a 35-foot jumper at the buzzer as Sibley East walked into the locker room with a 23-8 halftime lead.
