The Sibley East School Board, during its regular monthly meeting on Monday night, May 15, unanimously approved a motion to reject the hiring of Carl Bratsch as head varsity football coach.

According to Superintendent Jim Amsden, 13 individuals applied for the position of head football coach and 11 individuals were offered interviews. Of those 11, four declined to be interviewed because there were no appropriate teaching positions open.

Several community members attended the meeting to voice their opinion on the hiring of the head football coach.
Eric Bates asked the School Board what they were trying to portray? He also questioned what type of character the school was trying to build with the kids.
