Sibley East senior Tommy Wentzlaff placed sixth and earned a medal in the 152-pound division during the Minnesota State Class A Individual Wrestling Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3.

“Tommy will be a huge loss to our team,” said Sibley East head coach Chad Johnson. “Tommy is the team’s leader. People follow him and what he does.”

Johnson added, “Tommy is a clutch wrestler for us. He’s a pinner and he can pin anybody. It’s nice to have those hammers in your lineup somewhere. I am proud of him. He has earned everything he has received.”

Wentzlaff concludes the season with a 49-8 record overall.
