High bids, affordability of street project are topics at workshop

The Arlington City Council, during a workshop on Monday night, April 15, discussed the high bids and affordability of the proposed 2019 Street & Utility Improvement Project.


Jason Femrite, a representative of Bolton & Menk, Inc., and Shannon Sweeney, a representative of David Drown Associates, Inc., were present to share information and answer questions.


Mayor Rich Nagel and City Council members Michelle Battcher, Adam Cowell, Tom Hatlestad, Jim Heiland and James Jaszewski were all present for the workshop.

Project
The City Council recently received the results of the bids  for the proposed 2019 Street & Utility Improvement Project and learned that the bids came in about 20 percent higher than the engineer’s original estimate of $2,010,000.
