The visiting Arlington A’s opened its season with a 10-0 loss to Watertown in nonleague action on Sunday afternoon, April 21.
The A’s were unable to manage a hit against Watertown pitchers Pat Tschida and Joe Brudzinski during the seven-inning game.

The Sibley East varsity girls track team placed fourth among five teams during the Waseca Invite on Thursday afternoon, April 18.
St. Peter captured top honors with 165.75 team points while Fairmont placed second with 125 team points. Waseca (110.75), Sibley East (89) and New Ulm (61.5) rounded out the field.
Sophomore Paige Gardiner set a new school record with a time of 11:56.81 in the 3200 meter run and placed third.

Fairmont captured top honors with 181.33 team points. St. Peter placed second with 138.33 team points. Waseca (91.83), Sibley East (87.5) and New Ulm (53) rounded out the field.

More than 14,400 volunteers helped the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources do everything from monitoring rainfall levels to clearing trails, according to the new 2023 annual DNR volunteer report. The report is being released as part of the celebration of National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) when organizations across the country honor volunteers and recognize the impact of their time and talents.
“Minnesotans are known for their giving spirits and commitment to our natural resources, and Minnesota DNR sees that reflected in the immense contributions of our volunteers each year,” DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen said.
