First housing project expected to be done in the City of Gaylord

According to the July minutes of the ad hoc County-Wide Housing Committee, the cities of Gaylord, Arlington, and Winthrop are planning to move forward with a county-wide housing study after the Sibley County Board sent the project back to the cities on  Tuesday, July 11.  


The committee is considering forming a joint powers agreement between the cities of Arlington, Gaylord, and Winthrop. The committee plans to find someone to perform a study for approximately $17,000.  


At the Gaylord City Council meeting on Wednesday night, July 19, Gaylord EDA President Chuck Klimmek presented the Gaylord City Council with an opportunity to work with Minnesota Housing Partnership (MHP).  MHP will provide technical assistance to the Gaylord community in the area of housing.  Minnesota Housing Partnership is applying for a grant  to cover the technical assistance.  The task force plans to work with Minnesota Housing Partnership to develop housing in Gaylord.
