The Sibley East Visual Arts Team had its section competition at Tri-City United High School on Wednesday, April 10. Sibley East brought the maximum amount of 18 pieces to the competition and received 10 Excellent awards and six Superior Awards. In addition, three pieces were selected to receive Spotlight Awards. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church LWML in Green Isle hosted a Music for Meals event to help support the Sibley County FoodShare program on Sunday afternoon, April 14. Courtney Schwirtz, left, and Margo Kemp, right, performed a few songs during the event. They were accompanied by Mary Beth Schwirtz on the piano. The event raised $437 and 165 pounds of food for the Sibley County Foodshare program.

Two sisters, who grew up in Arlington, have recently published their first book. Renae Swanson wrote, and Marie Arnst illustrated, the children’s book Pip Goes to the Farm. They shared their ex-perience during a visit to the Arlington Public Library, which was attended by approximately 50 people.
