A late rally fell short as the Sibley East varsity girls basketball team lost to visiting Tri-City United 56-49 in Minnesota River Conference play on Thursday evening, Jan. 12.

Senior Hannah Wentzlaff led the Lady Wolverines with 19 points in the loss. Junior Morgan Stearns also hit double digits with 11 points. Junior Ali Stock netted eight points while sophomore Rachel Rettmann had six points. Freshman McKenzie Latzke and junior Taylor Brinkman added three and two points respectively.

Wentzlaff also contributed 15 rebounds and four assists while Rettmann pulled down 11 boards. Stearns collected six caroms and three assists.
