Junior Gavin Bates, a member of the Sibley East varsity boys basketball team, scored 27 points and surpassed 1,000 career points during a game at Tri-City United on Tuesday night, Feb. 21. Gavin is the son of Jason and Rhonda Bates, Gaylord.
