The Sibley County Board, during its regular meeting on Tuesday morning, May 23, unanimously approved a motion to end the Santa’s Helpers program.

According to Public Health and Human Services Director John Glisczinski, the program is run mainly by Public Health and Human Services staff at a cost of about $15,000 per year.  He also stated that the number of families served has decreased each year.

Glisczinski provided numbers on the program for the years 2014 to 2016. The number of families served was 227 in 2014, 199 in 2015 and 183 in 2016.
