The visiting Sibley East varsity girls softball team surrendered a one-run lead and was defeated by Belle Plaine 11-4 during the opening round of the Section 2AA Girls Softball Tournament on Tuesday afternoon, May 23.

The Lady Wolverines, who trailed 3-0 early, scored all four of their runs in the top of the fourth inning and took a 4-3.
The Tigers responded with eight unanswered runs over the next three frames for the 11-4 victory.

Junior Morgan Stearns knocked in two runs with a pair of singles. Junior Kiana Montes ripped a double. Seniors Alyssa Louwagie and Alli Harter added one single each.
