About 70 people attend the Child Care Town Hall event

Approximately 70 people attended the Child Care Town Hall event in Arlington on Thursday night, Nov. 16. The attendees were part of the community engagement process to address the child care challenges in Sibley County.  


The data provided by First Children’s Finance shows a gap of 379 child care slots in Sibley County. The highest gap is in Arlington with a shortage of 134 slots. Gibbon has a shortage of 62 slots while Henderson has a shortage of 54 slots. Winthrop has a shortage of 24 slots while New Auburn has a shortage of 17 slots.

Survey Results
Sibley County residents answered surveys at the Sibley County Fair, online, and from their employers. First Children’s Finance received approximately 250 completed surveys. Survey results from parents and the community show that:
