The Arlington City Council, during its regular meeting on Monday night, Jan. 7, unanimously approved a motion to post and hire a full-time police officer for the Arlington Police Department.

This will be the fourth full-time officer for the local police department. It currently includes Police Chief John Petterson, Police Officer Sara Jancoski and Police Officer James Noxon.

Petterson said the hiring of a fourth full-time police officer will eliminate the need to hire any part-time officers.
