At the regular Sibley County Board meeting on Tuesday morning, July 11, County Administrator Roxy Traxler stated that the housing study was on the agenda at the request of Board Chairperson Gary Kruggel.

Traxler stated that of the three proposals the county received to do the study only one remained, but that proposal encompassed everything that was requested.  She stated the City of Gaylord had contacted her with concerns that the housing study would include enough detailed information about the City of Gaylord.

Traxler stated that originally the cities of Arlington, Gaylord, and Winthrop had agreed to fund $3,000 toward the housing study, but that she had received an email from Winthrop EDA Director Mark Erickson who stated that Winthrop was withdrawing their $3,000.  Winthrop City Administrator Jenny Hazelton attended the board meeting and stated that “Winthrop agrees to be part of a housing study, just not this one.”   County Commissioner Bill Pinske stated that he had to check if Arlington was still in” and added, “There was some talk.”
