Reuben F. Telthoester, 82, Arlington

Reuben Fredric Telthoester, age 82, of Arlington, passed away peacefully at Abbott Northwestern Hospital surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Reuben’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Four Seasons Park Building in Arlington from noon to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
Interment  in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Green Isle, will follow at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
Reuben was the first child born to Lorena (Schmidt) Telthoester and Edwin Telthoester on Feb. 22, 1935. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, Hamburg, by Rev. O. J. Vriesen. He had a brief education and later entered the U.S. Army in 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957. On June 16, 1956 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Trocke at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, and their union blessed them with five children. Reuben worked both in road construction and as a certified welder until his retirement. He was happiest when he was Pickin’ n’ Grinnin’ to his guitar. He loved playing classic country music, which he shared his talent in his own family band, and many other bands over the years. In his younger days, he was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed pheasant, deer, and coon hunting, as well as trapping, fishing and camping with his kids and grandkids. His other loves were the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, golfing, snowmobiling, playing sheephead and cribbage.
Reuben is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 61 years; children, Laura Reetz of Glencoe, Renee (Rob) Stark of Stacy, Dean (Marla) Telthoester of Green Isle, and Wayne Telthoester of Arlington, and his best bud dog, Buster. He is also survived by grandchildren, Miranda (Joe) Hoffmann, Melissa (Aaron) Hendrycks, Vanessa (Brandon) Johnsen, Heather (Kirby) Pautsch, Tylon (Ashley) Reetz, Daniel (Kelly) Hanson, Caitlyn Solomonson, and Trey Telthoester; great- grandchildren, Tucker and Eva Hendrycks, Alayna and Benjamin Johnsen, Reagan Reetz, Caroline Hanson, and a brand new great granddaughter born Dec. 1, Liddy Pautsch; siblings, Lester Telthoester, Roxann (Gerald) Wels, Lorn (Sandy) Herrmann and Arlene Hanson; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by, parents; step father; daughter, Carol Hanson; siblings; grandparents; mother-in-law; and father-in-law.
