Sibley County Historical Society is awarded $94,953 grant for project

2019-02-07

The Sibley County Historical Society (SCHS) has begun a massive project to inventory the three-dimensional collections at their museum in Henderson.  The Historical Society was awarded a $94,953 grant from the Minnesota Historical Society to perform this process, according to SCHS Executive Director Amy Newsom.

Each item in the basement and on the first floor of the museum will be documented, photographed, and entered into a spreadsheet by The Museum Lady, also known as Claudia Nicholson, and her staff. They will finish the inventory of the basement and first floor by the end of 2019. The inventory will help museum staff and volunteers define their collection, plan for exhibits that tell the county’s unique story, and promptly answer queries from the public.
