The Sibley County Board, during its regular meeting on Tuesday morning, July 26, voted 4-1 to allow Public Works Director Tim Becker to purchase a new T595 Bobcat track loader from Farm-Rite Equipment in Dassel.

The current track loader was used a lot during the 2014 flooding to remove silt and debris from County State Aid Highway 6 and County State Aid Highway 12 and now needs new rubber tracks which would cost between $5,000 and $7,000.

Becker requested to purchase a new track loader for $50,091.80 with a trade-in of $34,091.80 and $16,000 in cash which would come from money saved from the seal coat project.   Becker received three quotes with Farm-Rite being the lowest.
