The Arlington City Council, during a special meeting on Monday night, April 14, informally extended employment offers to two individuals for the police chief position and the maintenance supervisor position.
It was the consensus of the City Council to extend an offer to Geoffrey Wyatt to fill the police chief position.
Wyatt, a resident of Lakeville, has been employed  as a police officer for the Metro Transit Police Department in Minneapolis since May 2005.
Prior to that, Wyatt was employed as a police officer for the Veterans Affairs Police Department in Minneapolis from May 2003 to May 2005.
In addition, he was employed as a security police officer for the U.S. Air Force in Minneapolis from November 2001 to April 2003.
If Wyatt does accept the offer, the City Council will officially act upon his hiring during the regular meeting on Monday night, April 21.
It was also the consensus of the City Council to extend an offer to Tony Voigt to fill the maintenance supervisor position.
