Green Isle votes 4-1 for RS fiber project

The City of Green Isle will be part of phase one for the RS Fiber To The Home Project.
The Green Isle City Council, during a special meeting on Wednesday night, March 18, voted 4-1 on two resolutions, an amendment and an agreement.


The first resolution authorized the sale of a taxable general obligation abatement note.
The second resolution approve property tax abatement related to phase one of the fiber optic broadband communications project.


The amendment dealt with the restated joint powers agreement for the Renville-Sibley County Fiber Joint Powers Agency.
The agreement dealt with the shortfall agreement for the taxable general obligation abatement bonds.
