As the legal and appeal process continues in the Kranz versus Sibley East Public Schools lawsuit, the legal fees continue to increase.

The Sibley East School Board, during a regular meeting on Tuesday night, Jan. 20, approved a motion to authorize and direct Knutson, Flynn and Deans to file a motion on behalf of the school district for attorneys’ fees, costs and disbursements in the district court election contest.

The regular school board meeting was held on Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday.

As of Dec. 31, 2014, the district has received $40,008.25 in legal fees from Knutson, Flynn and Deans, the law firm retained to represent the district in the case.
