Dedication event is Sunday for Dan ‘Buck’ Thomes Field

The softball/baseball field at the Arlington Sportsmen’s Park shall be christened Dan “Buck” Thomes Field during a dedication ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.
The dedication ceremony will take place at home plate. Arlington Mayor Jim Kreft, Park Committee representative Alan Ihrke and Arlington Sportsmen’s Club representative Jim Pederson will be the guest speakers.
Following, people are encouraged to explore the park and examine the improvements that have been made to date. Refreshments and cookies will also be served.
People will not be able to access the Arlington Sportsmen’s Park from County Road 166, according to city officials. People will be able to access the park by going south on County Road 17 and taking the gravel road to the park.
