Sibley East falls to W-M 35-8

The visiting Sibley East varsity football team fell behind early and lost to Watertown-Mayer 35-8 in Minnesota River Conference action on Friday night, Sept. 12.
The Royals jumped out to a 35-0 lead by halftime.
The score remained at 35-0 until Sibley East freshman Kevin Durham scored on a 5-yard run late in the game.
Freshman Gavin Bates tossed a pass to junior Paul Glisczinski for the two-point conversion as the Wolverines avoided a shut out at 35-8.
Sibley East gained just a total of 133 yards on offense.
Durham ran 11 times for 76 yards and one touchdown. Sophomore Brody Bates had 43 yards on 15 carries while junior Quin Riffenburg and sophomore Tanner Pasvogel contributed nine and five yards respectively.
Senior quarterback Lukas Bullert completed his only pass to Gavin Bates for three yards.
